As we also reported yesterday, when Avril's rep confirmed the happy news for People mag, Chad proposed on August 8, presenting his lady love with an impressive 14-carat diamond ring.
We can't really make out the ring in this first official photo, but there's really no denying it's huge. On the same note, the two seem positively thrilled and happy.
“He makes me laugh every day. He takes care of me in every way and is extremely attentive,” Avril tells the publication, in a quote obtained by the Daily Mail.
“I knew I was falling for her. It was incredibly powerful and something I'll never forget,” Chad chimes in, as per the same source.
The two have been dating for nearly six months and, until the engagement news broke, had actually managed to fly under the radar, without having the weeklies speculate on their relationship.
As a matter of fact, few actually knew they were dating in the first place, let alone that theirs was such a serious commitment.
They met and fell for each other in February this year, shortly after Avril ended her 2-year romance with Brody Jenner.
Initially, it was all professional between them, as they worked together on new music. Soon, though, they realized they had more in common than just that.
“They have the same values and really understand each other. They complement each other and are so happy,” a source says for the Mail.
“They haven't set a date yet. They're really enjoying this moment,” adds the spy.
The full print issue of Hello Canada with Avril and Chad on the cover will most likely bring a bit more inside into the surprise announcement and, hopefully, about the upcoming nuptials as well.
