14 DAY TRIAL // There’s reality television drama and then there’s reality television drama, the kind that is punctuated by a woman’s taking off her prosthetic leg and throwing it at another woman, in the midst of a very heated argument.
If this sounds too ridiculous to be true, I should stress that it’s not: it’s just the season 6 finale of Bravo’s hit reality series Real Housewives of New York. The woman in question is Aviva Drescher, though her intended victim has not been named just yet.
Page Six reports that the scene was shot last fall and will be included on the last episode of the season, airing on July 22. It took place at Le Cirque, in front of a crowd of shocked viewers and, if you watch the trailer embedded below, you will see it hinted at towards the end, when the camera zooms in on Aviva’s leg discarded on the floor, high-heel shoe still on.
“During a wild argument among the cast, Aviva yells, ‘What do you want from me? To crawl out of here?’ All the while, she’s shimmying out of her prosthetic leg under the table. [She then] throws it, in front of a crowd of shocked people,” an insider tells the tab, adding that this is “something that definitely has not been seen on TV before.”
Well, you can say that again!
Before season 6 of RHONY started shooting, there was a lot of talk about how Aviva would not be asked back because she was too boring. She made sure that didn’t happen again: now that she used her leg as a weapon in an argument, she’s bound to be asked back for another season.
