Avira Free AntiVirus 2014 remains a very appealing product these days, not necessarily thanks to its freeware license, but also because it promises to offer superior security usually found in paid apps.

The company behind the project today released a brand new version that’s supposed to address some of bugs found in the previous 2014 builds, which means that all users running this release candidate should deploy it as soon as possible.

Avira hasn’t provided us with any specifics regarding the update, but since it’s only a minor update, version 14.0.0.383 is most likely focused on fixing bugs and boosting performance.

Avira Free AntiVirus 2014 continues to work fine on all Windows editions on the market, but we’ve seen reports on some bugs experience on Windows 8.1 computers.
