Hopefully this trend will last for a good long while

Liquid crystal displays have been playing second fiddle to OLED in the media lately, even though they're still the ones selling best, but this has helped lower general pricing, which is always good.

In fact, during January 2014, or the part of it that has passed, prices went down, according to WitsView (as reported by Digitimes).

LCD TV panel prices went down for most sizes. 20-, 23.6-, and 24-inch models became $0.30 to 0.50 / €0.22 to €0.37 cheaper, for example.

39-inch to 42-inch products should also have dropped in price by $2 to $4 / €1.46 to €2.92, and 46- to 55-inch LCD TVs may have managed a drop of $5 - $10 / €3.65 to €7.31.

Only some 21.5-inch TVs actually went up in price, and not by much, just $0.5 / €0.37, give or take.
