Avast! Free Antivirus 9 beta is now up for grabs for all Windows users, bringing a lot of improvements on all versions of Microsoft’s operating system.

For example, the app features a new DeepScreen technology that allows the anti-virus to “make more intelligent decisions about new/unknown files,” as the parent company explained. DeepScreen is based on AutoSandbox, but it also features dynamic binary translation and dyna-gen.

At the same time, Avast! has implemented what it calls “continuously streaming update technology” that brings the latest virus definitions to the application as soon as they’re released.

Last but not least, the program packs new web browsing plugins to protect you from threats found online, a new SafeZone tool for more secure online shopping and banking, a rescue disk option to create a bootable CD or flash disk, and a revised interface to appeal to both beginners and more experienced users.
