Avast products are heading towards a new stable release for the 2014 version as the developer rolled out the first release candidate for “R2” 2014.

The current revision (2014.9.0.2010) integrates a few repairs for glitches affecting the functionality of the product and includes localizations, which extend the user testing field.

Avast announced that the issues with the BSODs connected to WebShield, Network, and Firewall components had been eliminated. Also, now there is plugin support for the latest version of Internet Explorer (11).

For XP users, the trouble with creating a rescue disk on certain occasions should no longer occur.

Among the highlights of the new major build there is the GrimeFighter module for optimizing the performance of the PC by eliminating clutter from the system. The developer revealed that this was going to be a separate paid product in the future.

Also freshly introduced is the SafePrice module as part of the browser plugins, which is designed to provide the user with better deals during online shopping sessions.

This update is available for all Avast consumer products: Free Antivirus, Pro Antivirus, Premier, and Internet Security.
