Avant Browser 2012 updated recently to build 171. It does not integrate new features, but brings to the table plenty of fixes. The new revision also updates the Chrome and Firefox rendering engines.

The set of repairs available in this revision eliminated plenty of issues that affected the performance and functionality of the application. Among these there is the problem with downloading PDF documents or with detaching and minimizing a tab, which would cause it to close.

Additionally, the option that should prevent videos from playing would not do too great of a job in the case of some clips. The current build of the web browser sees this problem fixed.

Trident-related quirks included the lack of the padlock icon on secure pages as well as prompting to save log in data although the option was disabled.
