Autodesk Inc. has released AutoCAD WS 1.6 for iPhone and iPad introducing new features that improve the drawing and editing experience on Apple’s iOS-powered devices.

A drawing tool allowing anyone to view, edit, and share AutoCAD works with anyone, AutoCAD WS can easily open and create DWG, DWF, and DXF file formats and offers simple tools to design, review, and even approve works (with social design collaboration features).

AutoCAD WS 1.6 introduces a number of new features that improve the drawing experience on both iPhone and iPad. For instance, a new gesture-based editing feature allows grips and handles to be used to move, scale, and rotate objects.

Users will notice a few modifications to drawing tools that “provide a faster, more accurate design experience on mobile devices,” according to Autodesk. Lastly, the software is now fully supported on the iPhone 5. AutoCAD WS is compatible with any iDevice that runs iOS 4.3 or later.
