Although that was probably the first thing that popped to mind when reading this article's title, the truth of the matter is that the AutoBot system has nothing to do with transforming robots and action-packed battles, but rather to something a lot more mundane: driving and managing one's vehicle.

The AutoBot solution has been designed in order to offer users a greater level of control over their vehicle, and in the same time, deliver a few functions that will certainly come in handy in various potentially dangerous situations.

The main component of this interesting solution is the AutoBot device itself, that is compatible with most smartphones and computers, and, more importantly, can be fairly easily installed in just about any vehicle built after 1996 (connects to the car's diagnosis port).

According to Mavizon Technologies, the company behind the AutoBot, their device offers many security features, one of them most interesting being that, if you are in an accident and your airbags deploy, AutoBot can automatically send text messages with your GPS location to 911 and family members.

Plus, the AutoBot also offers a GPS feature, meaning that users will be able to easily locate their vehicle wherever it might be (particularly useful if the car is stolen).

Additionally, the AutoBot can provide some interesting info on whether the car needs an oir change, the tires require rotation or whether something is wrong with the vehicle, and in a much more user-friendly manner than most other accessories of this type.

Using the system should be pretty simple, requiring users to login to the company's cloud-based service in order to access the info on their vehicles, something they can easily achieve from just about any platform, including a smartphone.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get the AutoBot just yet, since the device is actually in the late stages of development and is expected to officially hit the shelves at some point over the course of 2011, priced under 300 US dollars.
