Gamers will have a chance to win cash and a dinner with football stars

The FIFA Interactive World Cup qualifying process for this year starts in Australia, with players invited to try out their hand at FIFA 12 in locations in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

The qualifying phase of the tournament will take place on March 22, in the afternoon, and those who get through the initial selection phase will then be flown to Sydney in order to compete in final on April 4, which will serve to determine the champion of the continent-sized state.

The worldwide FIFA Interactive World Cup has overall prizes of 20,000 dollars (14,388 Euro) and the winners will be able to also take part in a gala dinner with football start like David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Ricardo Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Fernando Torres, Lionel Messi and Tim Cahill.

The development team at EA Sports is at the moment working on FIFA 13 and there have been suggestions that the game will incorporate some elements from the Street spin-off which launches during the spring.
