Like so many other electronics and hardware devices, speakers come in many forms and sizes, and it looks like Audyssey went for the unassuming approach when it designed the newest of its speakers.
Looks like Audyssey became one of the companies responsible for providing the IT industry with a piece of news that isn't really related to the tablet segment.
Granted, what it built can very well be hooked up to a tablet if on so wants to, but at least some variety now exists in this field.
To be a bit more precise, the company just unveiled its newest speaker, one that has a minimalistic design with a wireframe look.
Of course, give the name of the product (
Lower East Side), it's not hard to imagine why, since it was inspired from this sector of Manhattan (the musical influence of such clubs as CBGB is one of the things one can think of when beholding it).
The product has both analog and optical connectors, essentially making it compatible with any device capable of producing sound, provided it has a plug of the sort in the first place.
”Our lives revolve around digital content, and our Lower East Side Media Speakers are designed to seamlessly integrate with how we watch movies and listen to music,” said Robb Mason, Audyssey’s vice president of marketing.
“By offering optical and analog inputs, users can easily connect with their content delivery system, whether that’s a desktop computer or an Apple TV. Style, quality and versatility, that’s what these speakers are all about.”
The newcomer has not yet started selling and prospective buyers will have to keep waiting until the third quarter of 2011, probably late in the summer, since that is when this final step will be taken. The price will be of $199 for a pair, while the color scheme is black and red.
