Features the so-called “Smart Speaker technology” and a November release date

Another testament to the growing popularity of wireless products, Audyssey's new Lower East Side Audio Dock Air has just been launched, even if it won't make it out until next month.

The new speaker from Audyssey is one of those audio products that does its best to combine all the assets of a full audio system into one.

Whether or not the attempt was successful is something that users themselves will have to decide of course, though they will have to wait a while before they get the chance.

This is because shipments will only start in November, 2011, for the price of $400, which is the same as 289.24 Euro.

Whether or not the European price will actually reflect this (if the item even makes it there) remains to be seen.

Regardless, Audyssey used the opportunity provided by its press release to provide the spec rundown.

The main asset it names is the “Smart Speaker technology” which provides “rich and balanced sound.”

The speaker is also supposed to produce bass similar to what a subwoofer would accomplish.

That said the unit boasts a pair of 1W speakers, just as many 3-inch midrange drivers and two 4-bass passive bass radiators.

As for actual communication with a PC, wireless connectivity takes care of that, though people who like cables can use the 3.5mm input instead. Finally, the company threw in a headphone jack.

"AirPlay represents a huge step forward in the pursuit of wireless audio and we believe our Lower East Side Audio Dock Air will please even the most discerning listeners," said Robb Mason, Audyssey's vice president of marketing.

"Our Smart Speaker technology enables us to generate audio output that's simply not attainable by other manufacturers – we're confident our new dock will outperform any comparably priced AirPlay dock on the market."
