Cingular announced yesterday the launching of the model Audiovox SMT 5600, the smallest smartphone fitted with Windows Mobile.

The phone proved to be a success and got numerous awards and favorable reviews. PC Magazine granted it the title Editors Choice" in December 2004 and again in January, February and March 2055. The list of awards continued with the title Girl's Best Friend Award", granted during the event International Consumer
Electronics Show.

The phone offers the possibility of checking the e-mail with Microsoft Outlook, a digital camera and the possibility o running digital content through Windows Media Player 10 Mobile.

Audiovox SMT 5600 is a tri-band (850/1800/1900 MHz) phone compatible with the GSM/GPRS networks and it includes several functions well-known by Windows users. Proving to all skeptics that size does matter and that small doesn't necessary mean simpler, Audiovox SMT 5600 has an infrared port, is capable of Bluetooth transmissions and has a speaker for conferences. This phone is the only model in the world bearing the PlaysForSure logo, which means it's compatible with a wide variety of music download services, like MSN Music or Napster.

The model has 32MB of internal memory, which can be extended by adding a mini-SD memory card. The integrated digital camera is based on a CMOS VGA sensor, allows a 4X digital zoom and capturing the image in dim light conditions.

On the American market, the price tag for this device will be 199.99 USD with a 2 year contract which includes both voice and data services.
