The official page of Audi, the famous car producer, was recently compromised by a malicious attempt that managed to change the content published on it. According to Websense Security Labs, the official website of Audi was containing a new frame that redirected the visitors to a dangerous page attempting to install a Trojan file on their computers. It seems that the file was named update.exe, being extremely difficult to identify by the administrators using the Task Manager provided by Windows or other similar solutions.

"Websense Security Labs has discovered that the official site of Audi in Taiwan has been compromised. The Audi site contains an iframe that leads to another page located on another domain/ This site is obfuscated, using the 7-bit US-ASCII bypass technique. Once this obfuscation technique is bypassed, the script is further obfuscated. The resulting decoded page reveals a Visual Basic Script that contains an ADOdb (database extraction library) exploit. The exploit within the page downloads and executes a file called update.exe (Trojan PWS)," Websense sustained in the security advisory.

As you can see, the most famous websites on the Internet are often affected by more or less critical hack attempts that are modifying their content and redirecting the users to infected files. At this time, there is an impressive number of malicious pages on the Internet, most of the users being vulnerable to them as there is no 100 percent efficient product to protect them. However, the security companies are currently working on a product to defend the systems but even the most useful contained vulnerabilities. Take for example Kaspersky Antivirus that was often regarded as the most powerful application against infected files.
