It was revealed that Amazon is working on a new program which will deliver convenience to your car’s trunk, but only if you fulfil three conditions: you must be an Amazon Prime customer, own an Audi and live in Germany.

After having met some legal issue following the announcement that it wants to deliver packages to your front door using drones, Amazon now seems to be concentrating on a more legitimate way to make sure that you get your online orders.

This new project was revealed by Audi in a press release on their official website, claiming that “With comprehensive connectivity, we are transforming the car into a service device and integrating it even more closely into the everyday lives of our customers.”

The new service is reported to launch in May and people should be able to enter their Audi instead of their residential address when placing an online order.

This way, DHL will deliver your order not to your home as before, but to your car’s trunk.

Audi guarantees the safety of the service

They came up with this initiative to help their customers save more time on online shopping, and Audi even assures clients that they are perfectly safe using the service as the person who handles the delivery will receive an access code to their car trunk and this one-time code and that it will become unusable once the truck has been closed.

This way the person doing the deliveries, as well as the customer, will avoid any uncomfortable situations which might arise like not being at home when the parcel is due to arrive.

Furthermore, Audi hinted at their future project which will enable users also to send things like letters or any kind of packages using their car.

Audi mentioned that the project will start in Munich, Germany, but if things work out and everything goes as planned, it is very likely for them to expand the Audi Connect Easy Delivery service for all users and in other countries as well.
