Video game developer Blizzard announced that it would increase the number of filters for the Auction House system in Diablo III from three to six, in order to allow players to have more options when it comes to searching for the item that best suits their needs.

Lylirra, who is a community manager at Blizzard, wrote on the official forum that, “We’re looking to bump the number of Preferred Stats slots from 3 up to 6. We’re also looking to bump the number of digits in the ‘Min Value’ window from 3 to 5 (so you can search for Preferred Stat values higher than ‘999’).”

The players have been asking for more filters to be introduced to the Auction House since Diablo III was launched.

More Auction House elements might be introduced in the coming 1.0.4. patch.

The Blizzard representative added, “We definitely want to provide players with the option to cancel an auction (at any point after it’s posted) so long as it does not have any bids. Right now, we’re looking at this for 1.0.4, but that of course may change depending on implementation and testing.”

The Auction House is one of the major innovations for Diablo III and allows players to search for any kind of items they might need and sell off those pieces of gear that they have no need for.

Gamers can use the Auction House with in-game currency or with real world money, a fact that was hugely controversial before the launch of the game.

When Diablo III was launched, Blizzard has delayed the introduction of the real money Auction House in order to make sure that the system was secure.

Since then, Diablo III managed to deliver more than 10 million in sales and most players have quickly become familiar and comfortable with the Auction House system.
