In April, St.Louis-based supermarket chain Schnucks began warning customers that their financial information might have been stolen by hackers who compromised the company’s networks between December 2012 and March 2013.

Now, the Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster’s office has concluded its investigation into the incident and found that Schnucks Markets hasn’t "violated laws regarding data security," Business Journal reports.

The AG has determined that the company is itself a victim of criminal wrongdoing.

However, the problems for Schnucks are not over. Six lawsuits have been filed since news broke that cybercriminals might have stolen the details of 2.4 million payment cards.

The grocery store chain has filed motions to dismiss two of them which accused the company of not acting fast enough to inform the public of the incident.
