14 DAY TRIAL // In a startling turn of events, it's now being speculated that Suge Knight was actually shot by accident and that the real target of the shooting was singer Chris Brown. He was performing on stage at the time the first bullet was fired and immediately ducked to avoid being hit. Suge was not so lucky as he got shot 6 times and needed to be taken to the hospital, where he was operated on.
Several media outlets are claiming today that Suge's shooting was in fact aimed at Brown, who was headlining a pre-VMA party at the swanky 1OAK club in Hollywood. Mediatakeout has spoken to several sources deep within the investigation and it's now emerged that “a group of men tried to murder Chris Brown.”
Brown, though not the spitting image of an altar boy, hasn't been linked to the criminal underworld. He was, however, imprisoned for assault and has since undertaken anger management classes.
Now it has emerged that Brown's entourage and lifestyle before he went to jail could have led to someone wanting to murder him. “Chris used to run with a bunch of gang bangers who were really scary. When he got out [of rehab], he cut them all off. I guess they’re UPSET about that,” says one source.
These gang members were reportedly angry at Brown because they attempted to extort money from him and he wouldn't give them any. So, on early Sunday morning they decided to settle that score and kill Brown while he was hosting the event.
Eyewitnesses at the club are saying that the shooter aimed at Brown first but missed and then shot at Suge. Brown's gang involvement is also speculated because of the hand gestures he kept making during his performance and also because of the red color of his bandana, now also linked with his Bloods affiliation.
Bloods is a known Los Angeles gang and their members are often identified through the red coloring of their clothing. Suge Knight too is known to have gang affiliations, and also with the Bloods. The police have confirmed that several known Bloods members were in the club at the time of the shooting.
The investigation is still unfolding but the this is the main direction into which the police are pursuing evidence: that of a gang shooting mostly due to the fact that they had a score to settle. It remains to be proven if Brown was indeed the real target of the armed attack and Suge was just a bystander.
