NeoJac has just released a very useful tool that will allow even the most mundane game developers to create their MMOs. Dubbed Atavism, the application allows basically anyone who can afford to purchase it to build a massive multiplayer online role-playing game.

Atavism is now available on Steam for no less than €55.24, but the 15% promotional discount will expire on January 27, so Atavism will cost €64.99 after that.

According to developers, Atavism requires Unity (Free or Pro). Also, some experience with Unity would be beneficial for anyone acquiring Atavism.

Those interested in purchasing Atavism should know that NeoJac offers different types of license, depending on the number of users.

For example, the starter package that's now on sale on Steam only covers 200 concurrent users. The package includes the entire server code compiler, with the exception of the configuration files. This build allow devs to quickly create an MMO within Unity by using the GUI.

Last but not least, the starter pack comes with base Build Licenses, which includes: Chat, Quests, Skill System, Basic Combat, Pets, Mob Spawning, and Factions.

Customers also receive a demo setup which includes 2 characters, login and character creation scene as well as a pre-build island to start with.

NeoJac offers multiple Atavism licenses, but only one if available on Steam

There are other types of licenses as well, with the most expensive weighing in at $1,500, which features unlimited concurrent users and all the other licenses.

Those who purchased Atavism immediately after it was launched on Steam may have already found out that Atavis wasn't extracting the file correctly.

Luckily, the folks over at NeoJac have just released an update, which should fix this issue. What you need to do is create an Atavism account on NeoJac's website after purchasing it and then login with your Steam account.

That way you will be able to extract the files needed for Atavism by launching the Atavism MMO Creator from Steam and clicking the Extract files button.
