A landfill excavation in New Mexico will show whether or not thousands of E.T. games by ATARI are lying hidden there, underneath all the rubble.

It's an urban legend that the landfill in Alamogordo is supposedly where numerous unsold copies of the game were dumped, making it some sort of an Atari graveyard.

We are about to find out if the rumors are true, as videomakers at Fuel Industries are searching through the garbage for what is possibly the worst game in history. The Canadian company is shooting a documentary on what they hope will be the discovery of the Atari games.

"It was the game systems, actually the game systems themselves it was actual cartridges and games, 'E.T.' and so on," says Joe Lewandowski, who owned a garbage company by the time the games were allegedly thrown there.
