Wireless carrier At&t opened its first retail store, after the rebranding, this being part of the company's strategy to make buying fun for their customers as well as promote its services in a Cingular area.

The 5,000 square foot store that is located across the former Compaq Center complex in Houston is one of several 'At&t Experience' stores that are to be opened throughout this year. The new At&t Experience store is larger than your average Cingular stores and has received an extreme makeover both inside and out.

Its main purpose is to demonstrate the benefits of At&t's products and services, all under one roof. Also, it is the first store to feature a fully integrated media experience, which is made possible through convergence, by encouraging interaction with the company's extensive portfolio of wireless, broadband, video and wireline voice products and services.

"The AT&T Experience Store in Houston is what the new AT&T is all about," said Stan Sigman, Wireless president & CEO, AT&T Inc. "All of the communications and entertainment products consumers want are in one place, and under one roof."

Featuring several new retail concepts, including six integrated 'customer experience' stations, the store is meant to encourage customer interaction with cutting edge devices and services. Store personnel with knowledge in the field will always be around to answer any questions or guide consumers through trying out or purchasing decisions.

For the ones that like to customize their mobile phones, the store also includes a Personal Style Studio that will showcase high-end accessories and will allow the purchase of various stuff for customizing phones like ringtones, crystal handset designs, phone 'tattoos' and more.
