If you will be asked what Asustek does for a living, there are 90 % chances you will say they manufacture motherboards, graphic cards, notebooks and things related to the computer business. The other 10 % chances say they also manufacture PDAs and mobile phones, a fact that not many people know about.

Apart from the Pdas they have developed until know, almost no one will be able to tell you what phones they have released, when they have released them or at what prices. If you read this article, you are going to be one of those 10 % of the people that know the name of an Asustek mobile phone and, believe me, you can be proud of it :).

The Z801 mobile device I'm talking about here will be available, as the rumors already say, in Taiwan beginning with this year's December 18th.

Don't hurry up looking on the web for further information related to it because you won't be able to find any. Why am I saying that? Because this is what I have been doing for the last half hour and the single pieces of info I could get my hands on were the release date, where the release will take place and the picture you are able to see here.

The things that come with it are all obvious and you can get an idea if you look at the attached picture. One digital camera, a black glossy body with lines that are against everything the current fashion on the mobile market says, this meaning that the ones going to get it home will not be able to enjoy the slim and blue-blooded lines of the RAZR-like designed mobile phones.

Anything else about it? No and let's hope info will be getting us closer to the truth because I can't stop wondering what type of camera is that on top of the external display. Could it be anything special about it? Of course and if you are one of the eagle sighted guys out there leave me a comment and tell me what it says under it.

That writing is a little too small for me and I suppose the only ones able to understand what it says are the people that regularly use some type of microscope or anything similar. If you're one of them, microscope your LCD display please and tell us what is :).
