Asustek has unveiled a new series of graphics cards based on both AMD and Nvidia graphics processing units. The three new additions to Asustek's graphics cards portfolio are the EN9800GTX/HTDP/512M, EAH3850X2/HTDI/1G
and the EAH3650 SILENT/HTDI/1G models.
The EN9800GTX graphics offering is based on Nvidia's GeForce 9800GTX graphics core. The new card comes with HybridPower technology and the company claims that it offers full compatibility with the 3-way Nividia SLI. Overclockers can now manually tweak the Shader Clock for optimal performance directly from the integrated SmartDoctor feature.
The next model in the row is the EAH3850X2/HTDI/1G, built around two of ATI's Radeon HD 3850 graphics cores. The card sports a dual fansink cooling solution, that ensures efficient heat dissipation for the both graphics cores on the board. Moreover, the card features 1GB of onboard memory designed to provide feature-rich DirectX 10 gaming experiences and multimedia playback.
This is a rare offering, and according to the industry rumors, Asustek will be one of the few graphics cards manufacturers to release a dual-chip version of the Radeon HD 3850 graphics core. This is mostly because manufacturing a dual-GPU card is extremely expensive, and the graphics solution mostly pitches at the mid-range gaming sector.
Last, but not least, the Taiwanese manufacturer also released the EAH3650 SILENT/HTDI/1G card, powered by the latest-generation graphics processors from ATI. The huge onboard graphics memory allows users to enjoy feature-rich DirectX 10.1 gaming and multimedia playback at full resolutions and maximum quality settings. The card also sports a HDMI digital interface for creating facile links with the living-room plasma screen.
The addition of HDMI and the noiseless cooling solution makes the new card especially suitable for home-theater PC environments, to allow high-definition movie enthusiasts to enjoy a fully digital experience at lowest noise levels.
