Taiwanese PC vendor Asustek has just announced its newest LCD computer display with built-in, adjustable webcam. The 24-inch MK241H model comes with MIC-Array device, stereo speakers and an
earphone jack, to go along with its full-1080p high-definition capabilities.
The LCD monitor is rigged with videoconferencing capabilities, and that is why the manufacturer took extra care in implementing both sound and video technologies.
The MIC-array combines beam forming functions, ambient noise suppression and acoustic echo cancellation in order to deliver crystal-clear voice quality even when calling from an environment with plenty of background noise.
The integrated webcam is another important feature for the MK241H model. The built-in camera can be fully rotated both horizontally and vertically, in order to keep its focus onto the users' face. It also features a 1.3 megapixel CMOS sensor, which is more than a regular webcam can deliver. The built-in camera is conceptualized with plug-and-play technology, which lets the user install it easily, without additional drivers or software.
The 1080p HD-ready monitor uses Color Rich technology to achieve an 130% higher color gamut with a 2-millisecond response time, which prevents ghosting or lagging while rendering graphics-intensive content.
Asustek touts the new offering as the first 24-inch monitor with exclusive video conferencing functionality and ergonomics. The WUXGA display can render a native screen resolution of 1920x1200, presented in the form of a 16:10 widescreen. It also includes an on-board aspect ratio control.
The display's connectivity options are rich and can suit even the needs of the home-theater enthusiasts. The MK241H supports HDMI links as well as D-Sub and DVI-D connectors for the users without high-definition-ready graphics cards. The monitor fully supports both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray playback.
The new 24-inch monitor is available immediately for an estimative retail price of $600.
