Asus plans to soon launch its first LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV, trying to extend its brand awareness.

The company is already the biggest motherboard manufacturer in the world and also produces other devices such as notebooks and PDAs. Asus plans to launch three new LCD TV models in the first half of 2006. Company officials
announced that initially the new TVs will be available only in Taiwan but will soon be launched worldwide.

Asus will offer a 32 inch LCD TV, for the midrange market, and two 32 and 42 inch deluxe one for the customers that are willing to pay more for better specifications. The prices for Asus's LCD TVs are not yet established.

Asus took the decision to enter in the LCD TV market long time ago, but they preferred to spend more time with the research and development, until they were satisfied with the quality of their products.

Lately, Taiwan based companies adopted a strategy of enlarging their activity zone, in order to attract users' attention. Asus already sells notebooks, mobile phones, PDAs (Personal Digital Assistant), and computer components.
