AI Cool-Pipe

The need of alternative cooling solutions is more and more stringent. Many fans have a hard time dealing with the dissipated heat coming from the radiator. Those that are capable to ensure the proper functioning of the components, especially the overclocked ones, are either too noisy or too expensive.

Asus launches the new A8N-SLI Premium which incorporates an innovative system called: AI Cool-Pipe. Thanks to it, the motherboard ensures a clearly superior heat dissipation capability, eliminating in the same time the need of fans.

According to the test carried out by Asus, the temperature of the north bridge for the A8N-SLI Premium, fitted with an Athlon 64 3800+ processor, 2x512MB DDR400, and 2x nVidia 6800 SLI mounted, was 69.2 degrees. Another motherboard equipped with the same components, but using classic fans, obtained a temperature of 79.2 degrees. Both configurations ran 3DMARK2005 for an hour and a half.

?With AI Cool-Pipe, it?s no longer either quiet operation or low system temperature,? said Joe Hsieh, Director of ASUS Motherboard Business. ?The A8N-SLI Premium, with the new thermal design, lets you have the best of both worlds. This design provides heat dissipation performance comparable to that of cooling fans without the annoying fan rotation noise.?

Here are the motherboard?s complete specifications:
