The second notebook launched by Asus, after the F2, is the V1 professional oriented portable workstation that measures 36.3 x 26.3 x 2.5-3.57cm and weighs around 2.7kg (with traveler drawer).

As you probably know, all of Asus’ latest workstations come with a series of enhanced security features such as the Fingerprint Authentication, Trusted Platform Module and Exclusive ASUS Security Protect Manager, which enables you to setup the authentication requirements needed to access data stored on the notebook.

There are two features that make the difference between the V1 and the F2 – the size and the removable docking station that makes it easier to hook up different peripherals or communication devices.

As it is business oriented, the V1 is power driven by Intel’s Centrino Duo Mobile Technology and you can choose one of the processors available - Intel Core 2 Duo Processors T7600/T7400/ T7200/T5600/T5500, and the RAM which can be of up to 2GB. What comes standard is the ATI’s Mobility Radeon x1600 chipset and the 15.4” ZBD display sporting the patented weird named Splendid Video Intelligence Technology.

“Some other features found on the new ASUS series include: 10/100/1000 Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth V2.0+EDR, 3x USB 2.0, 1x Card Reader, 1x S/PDIF, 1x Express Card , 1x Fingerprint Reader and a choice between SATA 80/100/120 GB,” informs Mobile Whack.
