Asustek has just announced a new line of ultra-mobile PCs to be unveiled during this year's CeBIT show. The new products are tailored to answer the mobile computing needs of any user and include more than
an average laptop can offer.
The company has introduced the ASUS R50 ultra slim and light PC, world's smallest and lightest 5.6-inch mobile device. The sub-notebook comes with a wide offering of communication options, such as built-in GPS capabilities, 3.5G high-speed connectivity or TV tuner. The R50 features fingerprint biometric security that keeps stored data away from prying eyes if the device gets lost or stolen. The 5.6-incher also replaces the conventional spinning platters with a more elegant solid-state drive that gives the battery an autonomy boost.
The ASUS R70 model is more than an average UMPC in a standard 7-inch form factor. The R70 is a full-featured computer that comes with touch-screen tablet functionality. Just like the previous model, the R70 comes with built-in GPS and 3.5G high-speed Internet access, in order to make sure that you are never lost while on or off the roads. The R70 ultra-mobile computer is targeted at corporate and enterprise markets and comes with built-in a webcam and fingerprint data protection.
The highest-end model in the ultra-mobile series is the ASUS C90, that is especially designed to suit the needs of users who demand not only mobility, but also increased horsepower for their applications. The sub-notebook provides facile access to the most important hardware components, in order to allow the user to upgrade, service or replace each of them with ease. This aspect is a key component to future upgrades in order to keep up with the latest available technology.
The C90 model is built with hardware supported by major manufacturers, which maximizes the chances of the user to tailor their system accordingly. All the ultra-portable models will be showcased during the CeBIT Show and Expo.
CeBIT officially starts tomorrow, March the 4th 2008, and Softpedia will be there to bring you live pics and exclusive details, including more info about Asustek's new ultra-mobile PCs.
