With February fast approaching, Asus confirmed yet again that the Android 4.0 ICS update for the original Transformer Prime is in its final stages of development.

Already submitted to Google, Asus is waiting for the search giant’s approval to release the official Ice Cream Sandwich port for the TF101.

ICS is “in the process of being approved by Google. Once that is done we will be able to push it to you guys,” said an Asus rep on Facebook.

Just a week ago, Asus said that the update will arrive by early February, Transformer owners living in North America and Taiwan being the first ones to receive it.

Soon after, other users will also have the chance of running ICS on their TF101, which from a software standpoint will make the two tablets extremely similar.
