Is a tad thinner and lighter than the Apple tablet

The Transformer Prime is clearly the best tablet that the Android camp has to show for itself, but how does this Asus creation stacks up against its most powerful competitor, the Apple iPad 2?

Well, if we were to judge only based on size and weight, the Prime will definitely come out as the winner.

At 586g and 8.3mm (1.29 pounds and 0.32 inches) in depth, Asus’ creation is both a tad thinner and somewhat lighter than the iPad 2, which tips the scale at 601g and comes 8.8mm thick (1.32 pounds and 0.34 inches).

While this certainly doesn’t say too much about the usability of the two devices, it sure goes to show how much Asus improved its design since the original Transformer was launched.
