Asus has just confirmed via its Facebook page that the highly anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Transformer Prime would arrive on January 12.

The Taiwanese company hasn’t mentioned how quickly users might get this OTA update on their device, but we guess that most of you should be covered in a couple of days.

Before Android 4.0 ICS arrives, Asus plans to introduce another software update for the Prime that should improve camera focus, fluidity of the touch interface, and the tablet’s Android Market APK capabilities.

While this is definitely good news for the current Transformer Prime owners, it won’t do much good for those of you that haven’t managed to buy a Prime of your own until now, as getting your hands on the Asus tablet remains a daunting task.
