It appears that Asus has kicked off the deployment of Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean upgrade for Padfone 2 in several countries.

The previous Jelly Bean update for other regions was different than this one as Padfone 2 users are now reporting that they are getting a newer build with a few more tweaks and bug fixes.

Aside from bringing the phone's software to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, the update improves USB Internet Sharing in order to avoid disconnection, and enhances the phone's audio quality.

In addition, the camera's focus and photo-quality features have been improved. There are new functions available as well, such as Optimal GPS, Asus Quick Settings and an Asus Studio image editing feature.

The update improves the streaming quality for playback smoothness and adds new applications, such as BuddyBuzz, Floating Qidget and PinPal.

So far, the folks over at Android Police report that the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in Japan and Hong Kong. Keep in mind that this new WWE firmware is available for Padfone 2 users with firmware versions 9.8.8.40 or WWE 9.8.8.5.
