Asus will soon update its N-series of multimedia notebooks with the addition of a new 14-inch model powered by Intel's second-generation Core processors, which is known as the N45 and sports high-fidelity audio by Bang & Olufsen ICE Power.

The notebooks uses a new chassis design that was drawn by the same David Lewis who sketched the NX90SN desktop replacement and will be available in several color choices, including pearl white.

On the inside, the N45 can be configured with a wide range of Intel Sandy Bridge processors from the Core i3, i5 and i7 product families as well as with up to 8GB of DDR3 system memory.

The fast Intel processors are paired with dedicated graphics built by Nvidia, which take the form of the GeForce GT 555M mainstream GPU, configured to feature either 1 or 2GB of video buffer.

The Nvidia graphics card is based on the GF106 core and features 144 unified shaders, a 590MHz GPU clock speed, 900MHz DDR3 memory as well as support for the PhysX, CUDA and PureVideo HD technologies.

As far as storage is concerned, Asus N45 customers can choose from various 5400RPM or 7200RPM hard drive models, which top at 750GB, but can also opt for a hybrid drive or SSD unit. A DVD burner also comes as standard, while the Blu-ray ODD is optional.

Apart from the usual connectivity features that find their way in most notebook, the N45 includes a pair of USB 3.0 ports as well as an HDMI 1.4 video output for when the 14-inch 1366x768 resolution screen just doesn't cut it anymore.

Just like the last year N-series models, the N45 is equipped with a Bang & Olufsen ICE Power high-fidelity audio sound system.

Sadly, no information regarding the release date of the Asus N45 is available at this time. (via Notebook Italia)
