For most people, a portable solution is very useful due to its Office Performance, not the number of fps it delivers in the last arrived games. The opinion
is quite reasonable since most laptop users need a computer that works, not a speed demon. The fact that you can check your mail, use some office tools and browse the latest news is enough for me. An addition like a DVD-burner is a great thing but already pointless, since many of you rely on a powerful desktop system at home. So where does the "Need for Speed" come from?
It's quite enjoyable to be able to play a HDR game on your laptop, yet not quite necessary. Maybe if you visualize it as a bigger PSP, you'll get my idea. In an effort to think differently, Asus launches a new performance laptop series named "Lamborghini VX1 Golden Edition" in order to keep ahead of the market demand.
Incorporating a mobile Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB of fast DDR2-667 SO-DIMM and a 7400 mobile GPU series from Nvidia, this little fellow is quite a performer both in Office use and in games. Of course you won't get much of a standby time out of it, but that's normal, since you're paying for performance not standby. Adding a 1400x1050 resolution display, gigabit and wireless G connection makes this product even more appealing, but also power hungry.
The only drawback here is the price, since a portable gaming machine does not come in cheap. Asus did not comment on this subject, but for the buyer it will probably translate into a heavy pocket search.
