Asus has just revealed another smartphone/tablet hybrid in the PadFone series, which is aimed at middle segment, Asus PadFone E. The device has been officially introduced in Taiwan, but it might go on sale in other countries as well.

Notebook Italia reports that the Asus PadFone E is already available for purchase in Taiwan for around $560 / €410, which makes it the cheapest device in the PadFone series to feature a 10.1-inch tablet.

Customers in Taiwan can purchase the smartphone / tablet combo in two color options: Johnnie Walker Black or Pearl White. Aside from the color, there are no differences between the two PadFone E models.

Although it’s been priced pretty modestly, the device offers quite decent features. First of all, the PadFone E ships with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but a KitKat upgrade is not out of the question.

Additionally, the hybrid is equipped with a more than decent 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (Cortex-A7) processor, an Adreno graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

There are only 16GB of storage inside, but users will be able to further expand internal memory up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

The smartphone sports a 4.7-inch Super IPS capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and 380 nits ppi (pixel density), while the tablet features a 10.1-inch display that supports 1280 x 800 pixels resolution.

On the back, the PadFone E boasts a 13-megapixel photo snapper with PixelMaster function, autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. More importantly, this is the first hybrid in the PadFone series that offers support for dual-SIM.

It is also worth mentioning that Asus PadFone E’s smartphone is powered by a 1820 mAh battery, while the tablet is packed with a much better 5000 mAh battery.
