Asus P550 will finally be out on the market and come under Vodafone's brand, as the V1520 PDA phone. The device has been spotted on the operator's website and is coming soon in stores.

Asus P550 has been recently approved by FCC and it is surprising to see it on an European operator's website. The device is one of
the most powerful PocketPCs out there and brings some top of the line features. It runs on a Marvel PXA270 520 MHz processor and has 256 MB of Flash ROM and 64 MB of RAM. The phone works in triband GSM networks and also packs all the evolved features of high end mobiles.

The 3.5 inch display screen is one of the largest out there and should manage to respond to the high demands of any user. It supports a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, excellent for easy navigation and watching videos in best conditions. The huge screen leaves its mark on the PocketPC's sizes, as it comes with the dimensions of 121 × 71 x 16.5 mm and a huge weight of 188 grams. Anyone would consider these to be large, as they surpass the limits set by most other smartphones.

One important feature about the Vodafone V1520 PDA phone is the fact that it also brings GPS technology, for making sure that the user always had a reliable map in his pocket at all times. Other than that, connectivity is available through WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB.

Unfortunately, there is no 3G included and this might be a major drawback for such a highly capable device. People will want to transfer files at great speeds and make the best of the provided features. There is also a microSD card slot included, which should provide plenty of data storage space.

Vodafone said nothing on the exact date when its V1520 PDA Phone will hit stores, although it will surely happen in the near future, as the device is already listed on the operator's Coming Soon page.

Work gave me this pocket pc as my new mobile yesterday, i must say it is larger than my old SE W800i but it is very fast, packed full of features, it is most definately on vodaphone 3G contract, a few minor issues ive had already, such as using the touchscreen with anything other than the pen for me is impossible as i have rather large fingers, and the call quality sounds a little muffled compared to my old crip sounding W800i... Telmap navigator is on the start menu, but when you goto run it, it takes you to a broken link, when you finally get onto their site it asks for your mobile model (4 are selectable 3 of which are blackberry devices) however after filling in these details theres no "submit" option for the 15 days trial and all you can then select is £5 per month, which im afraid being a devoted tomtom user was never going to happen unless i actually had 2 weeks of road testing... the unit itself is very solid, the facia is proper brushed aluminium and really feels a solid peice of kit, i guess overall im happy with it as i never have to pay a penny for it, hope this review has been usefull !
