The Federal Communications Commission has approved for the US market the Asus O2 XDA Graphite mobile phone, a fact that puts it on the fast lane for release in the mobile stores.

This UMTS 3G handset is also compatible with GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz networks and measures 109.5x46x18 mm while weighing just 100 grams.

The O2 Xda Graphite runs a Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system on a Intel PXA270 working at 416 MHz, helped by the 64 MB SDRAM and the 128 MB of flash ROM on-board memory, that can be boosted up with the help of the microSD memory card slot.

The device also features a 2.2 inch 65k colors QVGA resolution display, a 2 megapixel digital camera, wireless Bluetooth and USB connectivity, a built-in music player that offers support for MP3, WMA, WAV and AMR audio files, and audio and video streaming capability.
