Asus and Green Hornet star Jay Chou have joined forces again and this time they came up with a redesigned version of the N Series N45 laptop which is now called the N45J Mystic Edition.
Best known in Asia as a singer-songwriter,
Jay Chou has tweaked the notebook to sport his signature as well as the cover art from his Exclamation Point album, a concept album featuring maritime adventure themes and ideas.
For this reason, the keyboard and speaker mess have been redesigned to give the laptop a more marine feel, while a blue-streak side panel was added to lend it a touch of azure goodness.
It comes in a special collectible box, with pre-loaded Jay screensavers and other content ready for fans to enjoy upon first boot up.
From a technical standpoint, this is your typical N Series multimedia
notebook, so it can be configured to feature a wide range of Intel Sandy Bridge processors from the Core i3, i5 and i7 product families and up to 8GB of system memory.
For graphics duty, Intel’s processors are paired together with Nvidia GeForce GT 555M dedicated graphics featuring either 1 or 2GB of video buffer.
As far as storage is concerned,
Asus customers can choose from various 5400RPM or 7200RPM hard drive models, which top at 750GB, but can also opt for a hybrid drive or SSD unit. A DVD burner also comes as standard, while the Blu-ray ODD is optional.
Apart from the usual connectivity features that find their way in most notebook, the N45J Mystic Edition includes a pair of USB 3.0 ports as well as an HDMI 1.4 video output for when the 14-inch 1366x768 resolution screen just doesn't cut it anymore.
No info on pricing and availability just yet, but for added pep the N45J ships with 2-second instant on resume, a technology first deployed with the Asus Zenbooks a couple of months ago.
