Microsoft has proudly announced yesterday that it had managed to sell a total of 40 million copies of its new Windows 8 operating system, thus putting an end to rumors claiming this new software is nothing more than a big disappointment.
While these figures seem to demonstrate that Windows 8 is selling like hot cakes, Asus’ Chief Financial Officer (CFO), David Chang, claims that demand for Microsoft’s new OS isn’t that good at this point.
“Demand for Windows 8 is not that good right now,” he told the
Wall Street Journal, pointing out that sales of devices running the new software remain low for the time being.
Microsoft, on the other hand, expects the new OS to sell even better in the near future, and points out that the PC industry’s 2013 recovery is also expected to boost sales of its new OS.
