Although Asus officials confirmed that the Padfone tablet/smartphone combo will be available in early 2012, with Android 4.0 on board, we assumed that the device will be launched on the market in January.

However, it appears that Asus CEO Jerry Shen stated that the company is forced to delay the Padfone for February 2012.

The good news is that Asus plans to push the Ice Cream Sandwich to some of its Honeycomb tablets, including the new Transformer Prime, in early December.

In addition, the company is expected to launch a second tablet with the Padfone, which is reportedly a 7-inch version of the Transformer.

Obviously, no release dates for the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade emerged yet, but it will be interesting to see if Asus will be able to keep its word this time.

So you think Asus haven't kept their word because you "assumed" it would be launched in January? Asus said "early next year", February is quite early isn't it? Me thinks you are being a bit unfair towards Asus.

I assumed it was originally slated for a January release because Asus just announced that the tablet is delayed for February.
I don't see any reasons for Asus to announce such a delay if the tablet wasn't supposed to come out earlier (like January perhaps).
