According to the hardware section of The Register, Asus has dropped a few more details about what's going to be inside its Lamborghini notebook. The company confirmed this week that it will indeed be based on Intel's Centrino Duo platform, and said it will contain more than 1GB of memory and a hard drive offering over 120GB of storage capacity.

Asus launched the two notebooks (one black, the other yellow, both based on the Italian car maker's colors) in January. They are expected to ship in April, though the company didn't reconfirm the date this week.

The VX1 will incorporate a 15inch display, Asus said, and it will not weigh less than "most" 14inches notebooks.

An interesting fact is that the computer has a red light on its lid, built into the raised section that's said by Asus' designers to reflect the design of a 1970 Lamborghini Miura. The red glow, they add, suggests the car's brake light. On the black model, however, it was more reminiscent of Knight Rider's car, Kitt, though also the light on the VX1 doesn't move from side to side.

A company official also revealed Asus expects the machine to be priced between ?1599 and ?1799.
