Although AMD's first Fusion chips were just launched, hardware manufacturers are really keen to showcase their latest creations based on the Brazos platform, Asus delivering one of the most interesting Brazos-based motherboards around as its entirely passive cooled.

Underneath that giant blue heatsink that covers most of the E35MI-I Deluxe is AMD's E-350 APU together with a Hudson M1 southbridge.

The E-350 is the most powerful Fusion chip to be launched as its two Bobcat cores are clocked at 1.6Ghz.

In addition, the APU also packs an integrated GPU, the Radeon HD 6310 graphics core to be more exact, that features 80 stream processors operating at 500MHz as well as the UVD3 media engine that is capable of Full HD, 1080p, video playback.

Unlike other manufacturers, when it built its Brazos platform, Asus decided to take a more feature rich approach and added both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to its motherboard as well as an impressive array of USB ports (four USB 3.0 and eight USB 2.0).

In addition, the board carries five SATA 6Gbps ports, one eSATA connector, a PCI-Express 16x slot, two DDR3 1333MHz memory slots and HDMI 1.3b and dual-link DVI-I video outputs.

No D-SUB is in sight, as it has been removed in order to make room for the heatsink, but users do get a TurboKey II switch that can automatically overclock the APU.

Unfortunately, we don't know if this overclocks the CPU, the integrated GPU or both.

Looking at the layout, everything seems to be pretty clean, although accessing at least some of the SATA connectors available could prove to be quite difficult with a PCIe graphics card installed.

Sadly, no details about pricing are available, but it looks like Asus will charge a pretty penny for the E35MI-I Deluxe as it packs an impressive feature list. (via Bit-tech)
