Asus announced today that in order to accommodate the ever increasing demand of more powerful graphics in the mobile computing market segment, it launches the A8Sr notebook series that incorporates the latest visual processing capabilities of the hardware industry. The slim and lightweight Asus A8Sr notebook will be based on Intel's cutting edge Core 2 Duo
processor and will be the first mobile platform in the world to use the next generation ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400 graphics card for the ultimate video experience.

The new ATI generation of graphics processing units will tremendously boost video performance and by utilizing the Hypermemory management technology, the video and the processing components will be more tightly integrated. Together with DirectX 10 certified support and Microsoft Vista 3D compliance, the A8Sr delivers smooth and professional performance with current and future 3D intensive applications and games.

The Asus A8Sr features an Intel Core 2 Duo T7500/T7300/T7100 processor that directly supports Intel's Centrino Duo processor technology, running on top of a motherboard centered around the Intel PM965 Express chipset. Users may choose from several Microsoft Windows Vista versions and select the one that truly meets their requirements. A8Sr also integrates the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN or Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG for extended wireless capabilities and includes native Bluetooth support as well.

In order to let users experience the new world of mobile graphics, the Asus notebook comes with a 14.1 inch ColorShine widescreen that implements the ASUS Splendid Video Intelligence technology, backed up by the all powerful ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400. Users who need to connect various gadgets and peripherals to a laptop or notebook have not been forgotten as the A8Sr comes with no less than five high speed USB version 2.0 ports, one TV-Out, one DVI port, a card reader as well as an Express Card expansion slot, FireWire support and of course Ethernet and VGA connectors.
