Although Astro Gaming is a lot more well known for it's range of audio gaming peripherals, the company isn't afraid of straying from its path one in a while as the A*Star In-Ear Headset seems to prove, this solution targeting mobile gamers as well as music affectionados.

Featuring quite an unique and stylish design, this headset is “expertly tuned,” according to Astro Gaming, in order to deliver a “crystal clear sound,” under any circumstance, being that you game, listen to music, talk on your phone or watch a video, thanks to its 9mm drivers and 20-20,000Hz frequency response range.

Compatible with all sort of devices, ranging from portable gaming consoles such as the Nintendo DS or Sony PSP to iPad tablets and PCs, this headset features a in-line remote (dubbed medallion by Astro Gaming) that comes with a mic mute button as well as a volume rocker and call answer key.

This can also be used as a track forward button when compatible devices are conncted, the mic being shielded against the wind so it won't interfere with your voice calls even it the “most blistering winds”.

Furthermore, the A*Star is also built using durable flat cables, Astro saying these are able to resist tangles, although I am not sure what to make of that claim until I can test them for myself.

To finish things off, Astro Gaming's in-ear headset also comes packed together with a soft carrying case, that can hold your A*STAR’s along with a portable audio or mobile phone device.

Coupled with Astro's MixAmp or wireless MixAmp 5.8, these headphones can also deliver 7.1 channel surround sound, the A*Star In-Ear Headset being available in black, white or silver for pre-order right now at a $79.95 price tag, Astro saying these will start shipping in early December.
