Astraware Intros New PDK-Based webOS Games

Game publisher Astraware has just announced the launch of two new titles aimed at Palm's Pre and Pre Plus smartphones, namely Astraware Casino and Police Range, both of which are based on the Palm PDK.

According to the company, those interested in the new games would have to have the new 1.4.5 webOS upgrade installed on their devices.

Moreover, the game developer notes that the launch of these games builds on the previous release of Astraware Sudoku and OddBlob on webOS, tow titles that became highly popular soon after launch.

Astraware Casino is already one of the best-selling title from the company on a range of various smartphone platforms.

The game comes with a number of 11 of the most popular casino games packed inside a single solution, including Texas Hold 'Em Poker, Craps, Roulette, Slots, and Blackjack.

“The game includes instructions on how to play each game and has a fun awards system - the Souvenir Suitcase - with awards unlockable in each of the games,” the company announced.

As for Police Range, it comes as a fun target practice range, offering players the possibility to put their skill and accuracy to the test while training on two types of police practice range - Crime Alley and Target Practice.

The features list of this game includes:
- Fast-paced adrenaline-pumping shooting range action
- Boost your firepower with repeated shots on-target to show your consistency
- Automatically saves your progress when you receive a call or alert or exit the game

The new title also comes with online high score leaderboards, so that players can compete against their friends and other players worldwide.

We should note that these are not the only games that come to Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus devices following the release of webOS 1.4.5, as the software update enables games built using the Palm PDK to run on these devices.

As soon as users install the update, the new games should be visible in the App Catalog, Palm announced via a recent post on its official blog.
