Anyone who hit the Assassin's Creed official website today could have seen in the hub page that besides the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 logos, there were featured the original Xbox logo and the PlayStation family logo.

Everybody thought that the upcoming game will
have PS2 and Xbox support, including the guys over at 1up. Nobody did anything to check if this is true, except 1up. They contacted Ubisoft to clear this matter up.

Ubisoft was quick to kill the rumor as representatives stated the original Xbox rumor was a mistake and that it didn't belong there. As regarding the PlayStation family logo, Ubisoft said that the logo is required by Sony no matter on what platform the game will appear, PSP, PS2 or PS3.

Assassin's Creed is due to come out sometime in the first quarter of 2007 worldwide. As fans probably already know the game will be developed by the same people who helped make Prince of Persia : The Sands of Time.

The most innovative and interesting feature of the game will be the ability of the character to climb, jump and grab any object that sticks out more than two inches. This feature combined with free-roaming will give players endless exploration possibilities.
