Ubisoft and Namco Bandai have made a pretty surprising announcement, as Ezio Auditore, from the Assassin's Creed franchise, will be fully playable in the upcoming SoulCalibur V fighting game that arrives early next year.

Ezio Auditore showcased his assassin skills in two games from the Assassin's Creed series, three if you count the upcoming Revelations, while Namco hasn't shied away from getting outside characters to star in its SoulCalibur titles, even culminating with Star Wars' Yoda or Darth Vader for 2008's SoulCalibur IV.

As such, Ubisoft and Namco have confirmed that Ezio will be making its way into the roster of fighters for SoulCalibur V, where he'll arrive with many of his assassin skills and weapons, from smoke bombs, swords or crossbows to the famous hidden blade.

The game is out on January 30, in North America, and February 3, in Europe, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
