Ubisoft has released another Assassin's Creed Unity trailer, this time around showcasing protagonist Arno Dorian's uncanny ability to ride the rooftops of Paris, known in more modern days as parkour.

Gamescom 2014 is underway, and Microsoft's presentation has kicked off with a nice video from the upcoming action adventure video game Assassin's Creed Unity, showing the fearless protagonist blitzing through buildings and navigating the rooftops of a gorgeously looking Paris, circa 1789.

The video is meant to highlight the incredible visuals of the upcoming next-gen only title, as well as to tease players regarding what they'll be able to do once the game ships in October.

The development team strove to offer an accurate depiction of Paris during the French Revolution, complete with the era's general mood, clothing and architecture, and it is all provided to players as their own personal playground.

For the first time in the series, missions will have multiple solving paths, and you will not get desynchronized when detected, but will have to make your way out alive instead. Also, a series first is the inclusion of cooperative multiplayer, allowing up to four players to tackle the challenges of the campaign together.

The game will not include a standard multiplayer mode, as the devs felt that it would feel disconnected from the main experience, so they focused instead on making sure that players would be able to complete each and every mission both by themselves as well as with help from their friends.

Although each of the people playing the game will see their own characters look as Arno Dorian, the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Unity, all the other players will be rendered as miscellaneous brotherhood members, in order to maintain the sense of immersion that the storyline offers.

This is only possible due to the power of the next-gen hardware platforms, that the game puts to good use, showing all the characters and events in breathtakingly intricate detail.

Developer and publisher Ubisoft has announced various pre-order and collector's edition offers for Assassin's Creed Unity, ranging from merely getting the game, or getting additional missions and weapons, to getting a figurine of Arno standing on a guillotine, rallying the revolutionaries, complete with a secret map of Paris, an art book, 2 lithographs and many, many other goodies, all available on Ubisoft's store.

Assassin's Creed Unity is currently scheduled for release worldwide on October 28, coming to PC, the Xbox One computer entertainment system from Microsoft, and the PlayStation 4 next-gen console from Sony.
