The Assassin’s Creed series of video games is big on conspiracy theories and players spend a lot of time trying to find out what powers are directing the history of the world and how they can be stopped by the main character.

The upcoming Unity is no exception, and as gamers get ready to explore the Paris of the late XVIII century, the team at Ubisoft is delivering a new story-focused trailer that asks some tough questions about the French Revolution and its actual causes and effects.

The publisher states, “Commoners starved in the streets while aristocrats squandered the wealth of the nation. Desperate and angry, they united and revolted against the power at hand and started the Revolution! ... But did the people truly lead the fight? Or did obscur forces use this time of chaos to spread their power?”

Main character Arno Dorian will be at the center of the events, including the famous streets battles that raged in Paris, and he will have a chance to find out exactly who is manipulating history to their advantage.

The title is designed to introduce full cooperative gameplay to the series for the first time.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity will be launched on October 28 of this year and can be played on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft.
