System is overloaded so it might take a while to get through

Ubisoft announced last week that Assassin’s Creed Unity owners who purchased the Season Pass as well would be able to redeem their promised free game beginning this week.

The French company did not confirm when exactly the redeeming process will kick off, so we were waiting for an update on the previous news.

Well, it looks like many Season Pass owners have just received emails from Ubisoft which urges them to redeem their free games. They are given a link they must follow in order to be able to choose a title from a select list of games that Ubisoft previously announced.

Keep in mind that some Assassin’s Creed Unity season pass owners haven’t been able to open the link in the email using other browser than Internet Explorer.

We’ve tried it out and it looks like there’s a small window opening briefly, which closes almost immediately. However, if you copy and paste the link in Internet Explorer, it should open the Assassin’s Creed Unity website.

If you are eligible for a free Ubisoft game, then you can choose one from the following list: The Crew, Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Rayman Legends, and Just Dance 2015.

All those who purchased the Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass or the Gold Edition of the game (which includes the Season Pass) can take advantage of the free game offer. However, the free game must be redeemed until March 15, 2015.

If you haven't activated the Seasons Pass by November 25, you will have to wait longer

It’s also important to understand that if you haven’t activated the Season Pass by November 25, then you might have to wait a bit longer. According to Ubisoft, if you redeemed the season pass after that date, it may take up to 10 days to be registered by their system as eligible for the free game offer.

In fact, even if you have activated the Season Pass by November 25 as Ubisoft asked Assassin’s Creed Unity players, you might still have to wait a bit longer as the system seems to be overloaded now and lots of gamers are met with error messages.

Once you redeem your free game from the list mentioned earlier, there’s one more thing that you will get for free from Ubisoft and is related to Assassin’s Creed Unity.

The Dead Kings DLC will be offered for free to all those who purchased the game on PC or next-generation consoles. However, for the time being there’s no telling when it will be up for grabs.
